The good: Increased DVD selection. Game rentals.
The bad: DVD Avenue definitely servers their purpose as an online DVD rental service, however they are small in size and force and do not offer all the additional features that Blockbuster or Netflix do. Another downfall to DVD Avenue is that they do not allow you to have a free trial to their service. Star Reviews really appreciates when a company allows you to try before you buy. Star Reviews felt that their delivery time was pretty good (2 days); however we are on the East coast. A 5 day wait for some of our west coast readers may be a bit extensive.
The bottom line: We appreciates DVD Avenue for taking on a service where it is difficult to beat your competitors. DVD Avenue does offer good titles and all the perks that you would find elsewhere, however we are little concerned with the availability of titles and the delivery time. If DVD Avenue could grow in those respective areas, we would give them an excellent rating.

While DVD Avenue is a smaller company, they do offer all the desired basic features that you’d expect from an internet DVD rental service, i.e. a cancel anytime membership, no due dates, no late fees, free shipping both ways, and the option to purchase DVDs that you would like to keep. To put it more simply…they offer a little of everything. DVD Avenue offers a wide selection of over 25,000 movie titles not to mention video games. DVD Avenue has an extensive selection of video games for XBOX and PS2. If you enjoy renting movies and games alike, DVD Avenue may be a better choice for you. Star Reviews’s feels that DVD Avenue provides great service, but they just don’t quite have the quantity and man power that Netflix and Blockbuster have.

It is important to always make sure that you have your next order of movies in queue to insure you receive what you want in a timely matter.

DVD Avenue has great customer service that is available by phone, email, and online FAQ support. Their support is very thorough and in depth. What they lack in some areas, DVD Avenue makes up in customer support!
